OUTFIT OF THE DAY: SWEATER WEATHER

GREY FINE KNIT HIGH NECK JUMPER/TOP: NEW LOOK (£14.99)
RIPPED KNEE (DIY) BLACK HIGH WAISTED JONI JEANS: MOTO @ TOPSHOP (£36)
BLACK SNAKE KICKER SLIP ON SHOES: OFFICE (£20)
COAT: ASOS
SCARF: EBAY
LIPSTICK: KATE MOSS FOR RIMMEL LONDON 04
GLASSES: RAYBAN OPTICS CLUBMASTERS

Hey everyone! Today I thought I'd just post a typical casual outfit for me at this time of the year. Once again I'm sorry for the poor quality photos but it won't be long until I go home for Christmas and will be able to post more regularly and in better quality.
I don't know about you, but I am so excited for Christmas! I've really got that Christmas feeling and I'm not ashamed to say that I shed a lone tear when I got to put the star on our flat's £9.99 Homebase Christmas tree (so tragic.) This is my absolute favourite time of year - I just love the feeling you get going for walks when it's just getting dark and everyone is wrapped up warm. I love Christmas lights and the smells and the way everyone is always in such a good mood. I can't even put it into words! I honestly don't understand people who hate Christmas, what is there to dislike?
I'm also so happy that it's finally coat weather again. I love this coat from ASOS, it's so versatile, warm and goes with just about everything. I definitely think it's worth investing in a good winter coat that can last you years.

Do you love or hate the winter months?

CHRISTMAS PARTY PICKS

Hey everyone! With Christmas party season just around the corner (I am so excited I can't handle it), I thought it would be rude not to share with you some of the things I've been eyeing up online at the moment. I've tried to cater for a range of different occasions, from formal winter balls to more casual evenings.

Tippy Plunge Back Dress in Aubergine Tinsel - Motel Rocks (£35)

Seeing as I was doing a party post, I thought it would be rude not to include Motel Rocks in my list. Their party dresses are always on point and they have a range of  amazing metallics and sequins in at the moment. This dress caught my eye particularly because of the plunge back detailing which I think is just gorgeous. This dress could be quite versatile and if worn in the right ways I reckon it could be pulled off in the day time as well as at night. I'm obsessed with metallic t shirt dresses at the moment - they keep catching my eye in the shops and I don't reckon it'll be long until I invest in one!

Lurex Crop Top in Black - Topshop (£22)

This top is another piece which I think could be really versatile.  I can imagine it paired with a black leather pencil skirt and heels for an evening occasion, or just jeans and flats for a casual day. I just love sparkly things at this time of year and the fact this could be worn everyday is a huge selling point for me. I actually managed to snap this top up on eBay earlier this week (shh)!

Embellished Back Maxi Dress - ASOS (£35)

How gorgeous is this dress? Obviously it's a much more formal choice than any of the other things I've chosen, but I think it's a really simple and chic way to make a statement. Once again, I was really drawn to the back detailing, and I think the open back on this dress is really classy and "sexy" (ugh that word.)

Satyra Bardot Skater Dress in Black - Missguided (£17.99)

This dress is such a steal at under £20! It's a timeless style that would be perfect for pretty much any occasion. You can't go wrong with an LBD and I love the off the shoulder style of this dress. You could easily throw this on with a pair of heels and a dark lipstick and be ready to go.

Jill Tartan Tailored Blazer in Green - Missguided (£34.99)
Ambrosia Tartan Tailored Shorts in Green - Missguided (£19.99)

This is a bit of a different choice, but I really think that suits and separates are going to be a huge thing this party season. They're such a classy and androgynous way to make a statement. I've had my eye on this particular blazer for a while now and I think it would be the perfect finishing touch to outfit for a winter evening. The great thing about separates is that you could wear them together or on their own - think of all the potential outfits!

Have you got any Christmas parties coming up?

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: WINTER IS COMING

Hey everyone! Today I thought I'd share with you a quick outfit of the day featuring one of my new  jumpers and my current favourite lipstick/hair look. I'm sorry about the bad lighting and the miserable face - I have to close all my curtains when I'm taking photos at uni because I live on the ground floor and so if I don't close the curtains everyone walking past can have a good peer at me taking selfies! I'm going to try to work on getting better photos in this room.
I've fallen back in love with my Kate Moss lipstick in 04 recently - it's a deep purple which is perfect for A/W and despite feeling a bit self conscious wearing it I've received quite a few compliments on it since deciding to bring it back out again. I've been trying to do more things with my hair recently, too. I usually just leave it hanging like a dead thing but since it's grown out a bit more (I had it all cut off just before summer) I've been experimenting with low ponytails, plaits and a more slicked back Chanel Elvis Presley inspired look.
Because winter has finally arrived I decided to get my favourite winter fabric back out today in the form of my black velvet skirt from Forever 21. I've had this piece for ages and it's just great for layering and adding another simple yet interesting element to an outfit. I've paired it here with an equally colourful polo neck crop jumper from Missguided which was featured in my latest haul, and my ridiculously old ankle boots from Topshop. I forgot to take photos of this with my leather jacket and tartan scarf which I'd put with this look when out and about.

What did you wear today?

WINTER HAUL: MISSGUIDED, URBAN OUTFITTERS & NEW LOOK

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've hardly posted at all since coming to University, life has just been completely crazy and I've hardly had time to sit down and think! I'm finally feeling a lot more settled into a routine now (despite the fact that there's only two weeks left until the Christmas holidays) and so I'm going to try really hard to start blogging again because I really miss it.

Since moving up north I've definitely been feeling the cold, and so I thought it was time to update my winter wardrobe. I literally own about three bobbly old jumpers that I bought years ago and so I decided to bite the bullet and say goodbye to some of my student loan in exchange for some warmer clothes. As usual it seems I've gone for the boring (yet versatile) greys and blacks, as well as an attempt at an injection of colour in the form of the A/W staple colour, burgundy. I've gotten back into houndstooth, gingham and tartan again in a big way this season, and I'm so excited to style these pieces. I'm also planning on doing a part two to this haul in which I feature some more exciting clothes - I want to get into the Christmas party spirit and get some more swanky sparkly numbers which I'm sure I'll put into a wish list soon (I have my eye on some exciting bits!)

1. Black Ribbed Knit Jumper - New Look (£19.99)
2. Grey Fine Knit High Neck Top - New Look (£14.99)
3. Antonia Knitted Funnel Neck Crop Jumper in Dark Grey - Missguided (£17.99)

4. Cooperative Houndstooth Turtleneck Dress in Wine - Urban Outfitters (£42 £27)
5. Red Check Wrap Mini Skort - New Look (£17.99)

Have you bought anything recently?
